Arthur Harnett murdered Isabella Moore 33 by cutting her throat at 2 Westgate, Hemsworth, Pontefract on 3 May, 1927.

Arthur Harnett was a miner and had been a constant visitor to the house of his friend, another miner and his wife Isabella Moore. However, he had been asked by Isabella Moore's husband not to come round to the house anymore but he later continued to do so.

After cutting her throat he went to the police station and said 'Take me inside Sagar. Ive done something serious.'

When they went to 2 Westgate they found Isabella Moore dead in the scullery with the razor beneath her head.
